Eight vehicles involved in a wedding cortege in the village of Zhairem, Ulytau region, have been impounded and their drivers held accountable for gross traffic violations, according to infohub.kz.
Police reported that during a social media monitoring operation, they detected serious traffic offenses committed by participants of a wedding cortege organized at a local restaurant. The organizer of the motorcade and eight vehicles were identified, and the drivers were found to have violated traffic rules.
All cars were taken to a special impound lot. The drivers were charged with petty hooliganism, failure to use seat belts, driving into oncoming traffic, violating vehicle operation rules, non-compliance with established requirements for vehicle use, and creating hazardous conditions for other road users.
"Police urge citizens to strictly adhere to traffic rules. Wedding corteges, festive processions, and other celebratory events do not justify breaking the law or endangering the lives and health of others," law enforcement officials said.
