Blogger Elmira Tolegenova has announced her divorce from her husband, Yerbolat Zhanabylov. She shared the news with her followers on social media, according to infohub.kz.
"I didn't want to go on Stories at night like this and announce it, but we are in divorce proceedings," Tolegenova said.
A video also circulated online showing Elmira hiding in a wardrobe and locking herself inside. That post has since been deleted from the blogger's page.
However, in her Stories, Tolegenova addressed the incident and urged people not to spread false information. "There was no domestic violence, as some might have thought. I locked myself in the wardrobe because Yerbolat was trying to take my second phone," she explained.
Elmira is currently at home with her children, surrounded by loved ones. She promised to explain the situation in more detail once she has calmed down and recovered.
Recall that on April 27, a verdict was handed down against the bloggers. The judge agreed with the sentences proposed by the prosecutor — the bloggers were found guilty of illegal entrepreneurship and the legalization (laundering) of money and/or other property obtained through crime.
The court also ordered the confiscation of 17 iPhone 16s and 8 Hyundai Elantra cars purchased by Zhanabylov and Tolegenova with criminal proceeds.
