The Emmy Awards ceremony, honoring the best television shows and series as well as performances in them, took place in the United States, according to infohub.kz.
The medical drama "The Pitt" from HBO led the awards count, winning Best Drama Series. Lead actor Noah Wyle took home an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in the show.
The horror comedy "The Widow's Bay" from Apple TV won in the Best Comedy Series category. Stephen Root earned an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in the series, while Kate O'Flynn won for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
"The Widow's Bay" showrunner Katie Dippold said her mother, who "always makes Halloween fun," inspired the project. "Thank you to Apple TV for letting us unleash our crazy creative vision," she said during the presentation.
The dark comedy "GCS. St. Louis" won in the Best Limited Series category.
Rhea Seehorn won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in "Pluribus." The series' writer, Vince Gilligan, was also honored.
Allison Janney, who appeared in Netflix's "The Diplomat," won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Matthew Rhys was awarded Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series for Netflix's "The Beast in Me."
Additionally, Jean Smart received an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in the HBO series "Hacks."
