At a government briefing, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov commented on the dismissal of the head of Samruk-Energo amid the situation with the CHP-3 plant in Almaty, infohub.kz reports.
During the briefing, Akkenzhenov spoke about the launch of CHP-3 in Almaty. "Things at the CHP-3 station are going a little less well than they should, so to speak. Completion of the station is planned for the end of 2027, according to assurances from Samruk-Energo," Akkenzhenov said.
He also raised the issue of executives' responsibility for the project. "Now on responsibility. As you know, at a recent government meeting it was announced that the former chairman of the board of Samruk-Energo had been dismissed; he had been repeatedly warned about deadlines and about the failure to carry out the required amount of work stipulated by the schedule. No one is removing responsibility. Responsibility also rests with Samruk-Energo, but here the contractor — in particular, Samruk-Energo — needs to introduce advanced software products and independent inspectors who will monitor the progress of construction," Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said.
Recall that Akkenzhenov previously said CHP-3 in Almaty would be demolished.
On October 28, it became known that Qairat Maqsutov had been relieved of his post as chairman of the board of Samruk-Energo JSC. At a government meeting, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov commented on the removal of Samruk-Energo head Qairat Maqsutov from his post. Bektenov said he had been repeatedly reprimanded but had not drawn the proper conclusions. Ansar Aidarov, who has worked in the Samruk-Kazyna group since 2013, has been appointed the new chairman of the board.
