The entertainment sector has climbed to second place among the world's most valuable industries in the global brand rankings, overtaking the automotive industry, infohub.kz reports.

According to the latest Best Global Brands report from consulting firm Interbrand, the combined value of the entertainment sector has reached $332 billion. Technology companies continue to hold first place worldwide. The total value of the world's top 100 brands rose 8.1% over the year to more than $3.86 trillion.

Streaming and digital services have been the main growth drivers in the media and entertainment industry. Platforms YouTube, Netflix and Spotify posted notable increases in brand value, helping the segment strengthen its financial lead.

The automotive sector, by contrast, has suffered its steepest decline in recent times. The value of the Japanese brand Toyota fell by almost 20%, while Tesla lost about 38% of its value and dropped 25 places.

Interbrand experts noted that a strong reputation alone is no longer enough for companies to hold their ground in the market. The biggest successes today come from brands that go beyond their core business, invest actively in building ecosystems and adapt quickly to changing audience demands.
