International film projects and the use of new technologies in the film industry were the main topics at a meeting between Vice President Yerlan Karin and legendary actor and director Jackie Chan, infohub.kz reports.

The talks, held with the world-famous star, were attended by the team of the "Armour of God" project, including international and Kazakhstani producers Esmond Ren, Rustem Omarov, Igor Tsai and Orynbasar Kudaibergenov.

"President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev pays special attention to new technologies, creative industries and conditions for realizing citizens' creative potential. Major international projects help develop the domestic film industry and promote Kazakhstan as a filming location," Karin noted.

A separate agenda item was the discussion of introducing advanced technologies into film production. Yerlan Karin spoke about the Astana AI Film Festival held in Astana as part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. The competition for films created with artificial intelligence received more than 8,000 submissions from 125 countries.

The Vice President thanked Jackie Chan for his especially warm attitude toward Kazakhstan and wished all project participants further creative success.

Filming of the saga "Armour of God: Ultimatum" featuring Jackie Chan is currently underway in Kazakhstan. The world cinema star is once again playing the role of Asian Hawk, a treasure hunter. In the new installment, the hero sets out in search of an ancient artifact.

The filming process in the republic began in June. Initially, locations in Almaty, Almaty Region and Mangystau Region, as well as Astana and Turkistan, were planned. One of the key locations was Bozzhyra in Mangystau Region. Some scenes were shot in Hong Kong. Jackie Chan flew to Baku for certain episodes.

Earlier, "Kursiv" wrote that residents of Aktau shared footage on social media of a mass scene with buses and a helicopter on the city's waterfront. And in September, German actor Til Schweiger joined the filming of the movie in Almaty.
