The European Commission will allocate €6.1 billion to Ukraine for the purchase of military equipment and weapons, reports infohub.kz.
This was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who arrived in Kyiv for Ukraine's Independence Day. The funds will go to air and missile defense systems, missiles, ammunition, and radar stations, which Ukraine urgently needs, von der Leyen noted.
This payment is part of the Ukraine Support Loan (UASL) totaling €90 billion, covering 2026-2027, as stated on the European Commission's website.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky, in a video address on the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, called on allies to "give Ukraine everything to stop this war, to stop it faster than Putin can start the next one," the publication writes.
