Two young residents of Kokshetau, suspected of extortion, have been arrested by police. The suspects intimidated citizens and demanded money under threat of violence, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Akmola Region Police Department, law enforcement received reports of the illegal activities. A pre-trial investigation into the extortion has been launched.
During operational search measures, police detained two local residents born in 2005 and 2006. The suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility. They are currently being checked for involvement in similar crimes.
