The inter-district court in Shymkent continues hearing the case of the murder of 21-year-old Nurai Serikbay. At the latest session, the victim's representative stated the amount of claims against the defendant Sherkhan Aymakhan, as reported by infohub.kz.

The family's lawyer, Ayanhan Omarov, said that the relatives of the deceased incurred significant material costs related to burial, religious rites, 40-day memorial, tombstone installation, and constant trips for investigative actions and court hearings.

The documented material damage amounted to 14 million 739 thousand tenge. In addition, the family filed a huge claim for moral damages.

"The parents lost their only daughter, whom they raised with love and care. The brothers lost their beloved sister. The grief and pain of parents who lost a child will accompany them all their lives and cannot be compensated by any material goods. The defendant Aymakhan forced Nurai into marriage... No monetary compensation can bring Nurai back or make up for the loss," emphasized lawyer Ayanhan Omarov.

Therefore, the victim's side asks the court to recover 10 billion tenge from the defendant as moral damages.
