Following numerous complaints about stuffiness in the waiting hall of the Nurly Zhol station in Astana, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) has acknowledged the issue and taken urgent measures. The company's press service reported that an inspection of the temperature regime and air conditioning system was conducted, and waiting halls and technical rooms were examined, according to infohub.kz.
As a result, it was decided to install an additional 20 industrial fans with humidification function. The station duty officer has been tasked with round-the-clock monitoring of temperature conditions and promptly responding to passenger complaints. Additionally, 24/7 medical staff duty has been organized.
KTZ noted that due to the abnormally hot weather in Astana, the load on the air conditioning system has significantly increased. The additional load is also related to the temporary transfer of 16 passenger trains to Nurly Zhol station due to the modernization of Astana-1 station. As a result, passenger traffic has increased by 23%, further straining the cooling system.
The company apologizes to passengers for the temporary inconvenience and thanks them for their understanding. Earlier, it was reported that passengers complained about stuffiness at Nurly Zhol station in Astana.
