A farming enterprise has won a court battle against the mayor of Uzunkol District and the district land relations department in the Kostanay region, according to the website infohub.kz.

According to the official Telegram channel of the Kostanay regional courts, the Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court (SIAC) heard an administrative case filed by the farming enterprise against the Uzunkol District mayor and the district land relations department. The plaintiff sought to invalidate and annul the results of a competition.

Court documents show that in May 2026, a notice was published in the district newspaper announcing a competition for the right to temporary compensated land use (lease) for farming or agricultural production. Five applications were submitted.

On June 1, 2026, the land commission held a meeting and declared one applicant the winner. However, the farming enterprise disagreed with the decision and filed a lawsuit to annul the competition results and all legal consequences arising from the commission's decision.

During the proceedings, the court found that the land commission's meeting was held without the required quorum due to a violation of the legally prescribed composition of the commission. Additionally, in violation of Article 43-1, Paragraph 14 of the Land Code, the winner was improperly awarded an extra 10 points.

It also emerged that the commission's decision did not include mandatory information on the arguments and criteria used to declare the winner for the disputed land plot. The document failed to mention a second vote that changed the initial decision in favor of another participant.

Based on all the violations identified, the court ruled to fully grant the administrative claim. The decision has not yet entered into legal force.
