A tragedy occurred in Aktau: a boat collided with a cliff, resulting in two deaths. Rescuers spoke about the course of the operation, reports the website infohub.kz.
According to the head of the emergency response department of the Emergency Situations Department of Mangystau region, Bakytzhan Ussenov, the vessel struck a part of the cliff protruding from the sea. All seven people on board ended up in the water and sustained injuries of varying severity.
Search and rescue operations were conducted in the dark, which significantly complicated the task. Soon, the sunken boat was found at the bottom. Emergency workers quickly pulled five victims from the water. The search for the other two took a long time: they were found about 500 meters from the shore. It turned out that both were not wearing life jackets.
The last victim was pulled from the water at 02:34. Unfortunately, two people died.
Meanwhile, entrepreneurs from Aktau who rent out boats recorded an appeal on Instagram, emphasizing that the crashed vessel was not a sightseeing boat. "This boat has nothing to do with us. It is not a pleasure boat that we rent out to guests and tourists. The people on the boat were relatives, one family. As far as I understand, they launched the boat themselves and wanted to take a ride. It was not used for commercial purposes. Unfortunately, the owner of the boat also died in this accident. The sea does not forgive mistakes. Do not believe various rumors. This was not a rented boat, but their personal one," they stated.
Recall that on August 30, in the waters of the Caspian Sea, a pleasure boat with seven people on board collided with a cliff. Two died. Later, doctors reported on the condition of the victims: "Four victims have been diagnosed with various injuries to several areas of the body. Currently, all four are hospitalized. Patients born in 1988, 2002, and 1964 are in the intensive care unit. Their condition is serious, they are under constant medical supervision."
