A deadly traffic accident occurred in the village of Krugloozernoye, West Kazakhstan Region. A driver of a Lada Priora struck two women, one of whom died from her injuries, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to the publication "My City," the incident took place in the village of Krugloozernoye. The driver, operating a Lada Priora, hit two pedestrians and fled the scene. One of the victims died at the scene, the other was hospitalized.

The Police Department of West Kazakhstan Region reported that the driver was detained and taken into custody. An examination showed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. A criminal case has been opened, and investigative actions are underway.

"The investigation is under the control of the leadership of the DP WKR. Other information, in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is not subject to disclosure," the police noted.
