Father of cadet urges public to reject fake reports of son's death in Caspian incident

Kazakh citizen Talgat Kulmanov has appealed to his compatriots to stop spreading false information that his son, a cadet, died during an emergency in the Caspian Sea. In reality, the young man is alive, reports infohub.kz.

Recently, a claim has been actively circulating on the social network Threads that a video recording of a video call between one of the soldiers killed in the Caspian and his father had leaked online. "Footage of a video call of one of the servicemen killed during exercises in the Caspian has spread online. In the recording, a young soldier talks to his father and admits that he misses him very much. Now these words sound especially heavy," the online publication Qara.kz cited a source as saying.

Many Kazakhstanis have already spread the information that this was the last conversation between the deceased soldier and his father.

However, the Ministry of Defense stated that the serviceman featured in the video is actually alive. The father of the serviceman, Talgat Kulmanov, who had previously posted a Reels with a recording of a video call with his son, addressed Kazakhstanis.

He asked citizens not to trust social media reports about his son's death. According to him, his son is currently a cadet, meaning he is studying at a special educational institution to obtain a rank or special qualification.

The man urged people not to spread such videos. In addition, Kulmanov expressed condolences to the families of the conscripts who died in the emergency in the Caspian Sea.

Recall that on September 24, while performing a combat training task, due to a sudden and sharp deterioration in weather conditions and gusty winds, 17 servicemen were carried into the Caspian Sea, 14 of whom died. Three were rescued.

A criminal case has been opened under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Currently, five senior command officials of the Ministry of Defense are known to have been detained. Today, the Minister of Defense promised that those responsible will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
