Mixed martial arts legend Fedor Emelianenko has announced his readiness to return to fighting and named the opponent he would like to face, according to infohub.kz.
According to MMAjunkie, for a potential comeback "The Last Emperor" has chosen an equally legendary fighter — former UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture of the United States.
"I continue to train with my team. I train my team, so I keep training. As for competition, if a good offer comes and it makes sense — why not? I can still perform," Fedor said.
Emelianenko noted that he is currently interested in boxing.
"We worked on boxing, so boxing interests me. I think Randy would be a much more interesting opponent. I'm ready if he's ready," the MMA legend said.
Fedor last entered the octagon in February 2023, when he lost a heavyweight title fight to Ryan Bader — the bout took place in the Bellator league, which has now merged with another promotion and no longer exists.
It is worth noting that earlier this year, Russian mixed martial artist Fedor Emelianenko was awarded the title of Honored Coach of Russia in Sambo.
