In Kazakhstan, a female soldier has won a court battle to restore housing payments that were stopped after she requested a recalculation due to the birth of her child. The Military Court of the Akmola Garrison ruled that the decision was unjustified, according to infohub.kz.
The woman had been receiving current housing payments. On December 3, 2025, she gave birth to a child, after which she filed a report requesting a recalculation in light of her changed family composition.
Instead of recalculating, on February 27, 2026, the housing commission of military unit No. 60563 decided to terminate the payments. On March 4, the unit commander issued the corresponding order.
The soldier went to court, demanding that the decision be declared illegal and that her right to receive housing payments be confirmed.
The court found that the circumstances related to the change in family composition were not taken into account when the payments were stopped.
“The court concluded that the termination of current housing payments was unjustified, since the decision did not take into account the circumstances related to the change in the plaintiff's family composition and the birth of the child,” the court said.
The soldier's claims were satisfied. The court recognized her right to receive current housing payments and ordered the defendant to continue accruing them, taking into account the birth of the child.
In addition, the defendant was ordered to pay the court costs related to the state fee.
The court decision has entered into legal force.
