The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) cut US President Donald Trump out of photos celebrating Spain's World Cup victory, according to infohub.kz.
FIFA removed President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino from images posted on social media platform X to celebrate Spain's victory over Argentina, after Trump lingered on stage following the trophy presentation to the winning team.
When Trump, alongside Infantino, handed the World Cup trophy to Spanish captain Rodri, he did not intend to leave the podium and remained in frame as the Spanish players lifted the trophy. The American leader only left after Infantino approached him, and they left the champions' podium together.
On FIFA's page, a vertical photo was published in which the US president was apparently "cut out."
The 2026 World Cup final was held in East Rutherford, USA, and ended with Spain defeating Argentina 1-0. The decisive goal came in the 106th minute of extra time, scored by Ferran Torres.
The Spanish players were awarded the trophy for winning the 2026 World Cup. Donald Trump attended the ceremony.
Earlier reports said Trump and Infantino were booed by fans during the final, and Argentina defender Cristian Romero did not shake hands with the US president at the awards ceremony.
