Today, September 6, a fire broke out in a residential building under construction in Astana. Rescuers quickly extinguished the blaze, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire engulfed a 12-storey building under construction in the Saraishyk area. The first units to arrive found open burning of insulation from the first to the seventh floor.
The ministry noted: "Fire hoses were immediately deployed. Work is underway to fully extinguish the fire. An uninterrupted water supply has been ensured."
By 14:50, the fire was completely extinguished. There were no casualties.
Earlier, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection announced increased safety control at construction sites in Astana. This followed two incidents: on August 27, a construction crane fell, killing the crane operator, and on August 31, a tower crane collapse left one dead and two injured.
