In Petropavlovsk, a five-year-old boy fell from a second-floor window of a hotel where he was staying with his parents. The incident occurred over the past weekend. The family had arrived in the North Kazakhstan region from another part of the country, reports infohub.kz.
According to Astana TV, the child was at the hotel with his parents. Law enforcement officers are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident and determining where the adults were at the time of the tragedy.
The boy was taken to the regional multidisciplinary children's hospital by ambulance. Doctors assess his condition as stable but serious. The child has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, as well as bruises and hematomas on the right side of his thigh, shin, and foot. He is currently on bed rest and receiving treatment according to protocol. Surgery has not been required so far, but it will be performed if necessary, said Gulnar Kaliyeva, press secretary of the North Kazakhstan region health department.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, there have been ten cases of children falling from windows in the region.
