Police in the U.S. state of Florida have arrested a 25-year-old man who slipped into a hotel room and spent the night hiding under the bed of a sleeping couple, the website infohub.kz reports.

The incident took place at the Provident Doral hotel in the city of Doral. A couple checked into the room, closed the blinds on the rear sliding glass door and went to sleep. During the night the woman woke several times because of strange movements near the bed, but did not think much of it. At around 7:30 a.m., while checking the space under the bed before checking out, she found a stranger there.

Investigators determined that the intruder, identified as Richel Calver, got into the room by climbing over the balcony railing. He slipped inside unnoticed through the sliding door and spent the entire night under the couple's bed. The suspect had previously stayed at the same hotel, but after he was checked out, management asked him not to return to the property.

Law enforcement officers found the man under the bed and took him into custody. Calver has been charged with burglary of a dwelling with occupants present and resisting a police officer without violence. He is currently being held at a correctional center.
