Low-cost carrier Fly Arystan, whose sole shareholder is Air Astana, collected 1.5 billion tenge from passengers for excess baggage in 2025, according to the airline's financial statements, infohub.kz reports.
The standard ticket price includes only a small carry-on bag weighing up to 7 kg and measuring no more than 56×23×35 cm. If the excess is discovered at the airport, the passenger will have to pay significantly more than if they had paid for additional baggage in advance on the carrier's website or mobile app.
The airline also said that remuneration for Fly Arystan's key management — salaries and bonuses — totaled 1.3 billion tenge in 2025, up from 820.7 million tenge a year earlier.
The exact number of key management members is not specified either on the airline's website or in its financial statements. It is known, however, that Johan Eidhagen has served as the airline's president since March 1 of this year. Richard Ledger, who was appointed head of Fly Arystan in 2024, has moved to the position of vice president for partnerships and alliances at Air Astana.
For 2025, Fly Arystan posted a loss of 4.5 billion tenge, compared with a loss of 3.6 billion tenge in 2024 — an increase of 27% for the year. At the same time, the carrier's revenue for 2025 reached 203.1 billion tenge, up from 36.8 billion tenge a year earlier — a 5.5-fold increase. Of that amount, 173.8 billion tenge came from passenger transportation.
