Footage has emerged from inside a FlyDubai aircraft that declared a distress signal during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv. In a video published by the Telegram channel "Voice of Israel," passengers are seen singing and applauding during the landing, according to infohub.kz.
"First footage from the FlyDubai plane upon landing in Saudi Arabia, Israelis singing songs of gratitude: 'Od Avinu Chai!' ('Our Father is still alive,' Book of Bereshit). A great miracle happened today!" the channel's post reads.
Earlier, media reports said a Boeing 737 passenger plane had declared an emergency during a turn over Saudi Arabia. The aircraft transmitted code 7500, which indicates hijacking or unlawful interference.
Israeli Air Force fighter jets were scrambled toward the plane. It was later reported that the aircraft had landed in Saudi Arabia.
Flydubai later told Israeli television that a fight had broken out between the pilots on board the Dubai–Tel Aviv flight. Local media claim the crew consisted of two pilots — one from Russia and one from Ukraine.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the emergency aboard the FlyDubai aircraft that had declared a distress signal.
Later, the first footage from the plane appeared. Another version regarding the citizenship of the FlyDubai pilots was also reported. After the version citing Russian and Ukrainian citizenship, reports emerged that the pilots hold Omani and UAE citizenship.
