AA Arena North, owned by Kazakh millionaire Almaz Alsenov and his wife Anel Alsenova, has applied to build a hotel complex in Petropavlovsk, reports infohub.kz.
The project is listed under "Projects under consideration" on the official website of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. According to the published data, the project is planned for the North Kazakhstan Region. The borrower is AA Arena North LLP, and the application status is "Collecting documents for the 'Indicative Analysis' stage." This means the project is at a preliminary review stage, and a final financing decision has not yet been made.
Details of the future hotel complex, including the investment amount, construction timeline, category, and number of rooms, have not been disclosed.
Almaz Alsenov is among Kazakhstan's wealthiest entrepreneurs. According to Forbes Kazakhstan, in 2026 he ranks 48th among the 75 richest businessmen in the country, with a fortune of $204 million.
His main asset is the Switzerland-registered Harvest Group, which operates in international agricultural trade, logistics, storage, pre-export financing, and trade credit. In late 2025, the company announced it would increase investments in an agricultural project in Kazakhstan to $1.4 billion, aiming to create a full-cycle digital agricultural ecosystem.
Beyond business, Alsenov is known for his involvement in sports. He is the founder of the professional judo club Jenys and serves as an advisor to the president of the International Judo Federation. Recently, he also became the founder of PSG Academy Kazakhstan.
