The incident occurred onboard the aircraft, where a 38-year-old foreign national was caught vaping in the lavatory, violating aviation safety regulations. As reported by infohub.kz, transport police identified the offender and brought him to justice.
The transport police department noted that since the beginning of 2026, 254 people have been removed from flights for various offenses. Of these, 193 were removed for consuming alcohol or being intoxicated, and 40 for violating the ban on tobacco use onboard.
The police remind that smoking any tobacco or nicotine-containing products, including e-cigarettes and vapes, is strictly prohibited on board an aircraft. Such actions pose a direct threat to flight safety and entail liability under the law.
