Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev has made a significant personnel appointment in the country's regional leadership. Yesset Baiken has been named the new head of the Ulytau region, according to the website infohub.kz.
According to the press service of Akorda, by presidential decree, Baiken Yesset Berikuly has been appointed akim of the Ulytau region.
Baiken Yesset Berikuly has extensive experience in state bodies and is well acquainted with the specifics of regional governance. He graduated from Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov with a degree in law and from Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz with a degree in economics.
He began his career at the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He worked in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Presidential Administration. He served as akim of the Nurinsky district of Astana. Prior to his new appointment, he was deputy akim of Astana, overseeing social affairs, internal policy, and culture.
