Kairat Ashuyev, a former head of state tax authorities, has transferred a 92.65% stake in the Almaty-based poultry farm "Zhetysu" to the holding company Aitas KZ to settle a personal debt, according to infohub.kz.
According to Aitas KZ's financial statements, the asset transfer took place on June 9, 2025. As a result of the deal, the holding's total stake in the poultry farm increased to 92.734%. However, according to the Adata database, Ashuyev still remains a co-owner of the enterprise, retaining a minimal stake.
Despite the formal transfer of the stake only in 2025, Aitas KZ has actually controlled the Zhetysu poultry farm since its founding in 2022. The holding's management, including the ultimate beneficiary and the management committee, made all operational and strategic decisions, and key purchases and assets of the enterprise were financed with Aitas KZ's support.
The report also shows that in April 2026, the holding signed an agreement with China's Moon-Tech International Trading Co. to supply equipment for this poultry farm, where construction is ongoing.
Kairat Ashuyev previously headed structures of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to Kazinform data from 2011, he served as head of the tax department for the Zhetysu district of Almaty. The Adata service indicates that he also led state revenue departments for the Ili and Enbekshikazakh districts of the Almaty region.
The majority shareholder and member of the board of directors of Aitas KZ is millionaire Serik Tolukpayev. In May 2026, Forbes magazine ranked the 55-year-old businessman 39th in the list of the 75 richest entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan, estimating his fortune at $302 million. The group owns more than 10 enterprises, including the Makinsk and Ust-Kamenogorsk poultry farms, which produce products under the brands "Kus&Vkus" and "AMP".
