ForteBank JSC and the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM Bank) have signed a cooperation agreement that lays the groundwork for a long-term partnership between the two financial institutions. The signing took place in Seoul on the sidelines of events marking the Republic of Korea – Central Asia summit, according to infohub.kz.

The agreement provides for raising up to USD 70 million to finance cross-border contracts of ForteBank clients working with Korean companies.

"Cooperation with KEXIM Bank will expand our capacity to finance our clients' foreign trade operations. For our clients, this above all means access to more favorable medium- and long-term funding to carry out their projects," said Talgat Kuanyshev, chairman of the management board of ForteBank.

ForteBank already works with Kazakh companies that are developing cooperation with partners from the Republic of Korea. Priority contracts include supplies of technological and industrial equipment, machinery and other goods. The new partnership will expand financing opportunities both for existing clients and for companies developing new lines of business with Korean partners.
