The trial over the explosion at the "Center of Plov" cafe in Shchuchinsk continues. At the hearing, the owner of the gas filling station, where, according to the investigation, cylinders for the establishment were filled, spoke, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to KTK TV channel, the investigation believes that the cause of the explosion, which killed 12 people and injured 28 others, was a violation of the rules for operating gas cylinders used for cooking. The cylinders were filled at a local gas station, and its owner was among the defendants.

In court, the businessman stated that he knew about the ban on working with household gas cylinders and strictly forbade his employees to fill them. He suggested that the workers disobeyed his instructions. "Since 2025, I gave the order that the modules worked purely at the auto gas filling station, only cars... I forbade it, I told the cashiers to put up a sign, a notice that filling gas cylinders is prohibited. It was pasted on a support near the columns," the station owner said.

Recall that on February 26, an explosion occurred in a one-story cafe in Shchuchinsk. Initially, six dead and 20 injured were reported. The moment of the explosion was captured on video. The director of "Center of Plov" was detained after the tragedy. The criminal case is being investigated by special prosecutors under Part 3 of Article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Violation of fire safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence). Later, the cafe owner was arrested for 2 months.

By April 18, it became known that the number of deaths in the fire at "Center of Plov" in Shchuchinsk had increased to 12. In June, special prosecutors of Akmola region reported the completion of the investigation of the criminal case. Then the trial began, where the defendants asked for forgiveness, but did not admit guilt.
