According to health officials, on Saturday, Israeli strikes and fire in central Gaza killed three Palestinians and wounded several others. In Gaza City, two people were killed and one wounded in a strike on a motorcycle, as reported by officials at Shifa Hospital. The Israeli military said it struck a "military operative," without providing details.
In the eastern part of Deir al-Balah, tank fire killed a farmer, as confirmed by officials at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, where the body was taken. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the incident.
Additionally, according to Gaza's health ministry, the latest airstrike on the compound of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital wounded three Palestinians. The Israeli military said it "struck a Hamas commander who planned to execute terror attacks" adjacent to the compound. The military accused the commander of hiding in the compound and stated that medical authorities in Gaza were warned on Thursday that medical facilities should not be used for "terrorist purposes," and that Israeli forces would act on any threat if it continues. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital did not comment on the strike.
A fragile ceasefire in Gaza has continued since October. While the heaviest fighting has subsided, Israel's military has killed at least 1,313 Palestinians since then, according to Gaza's health ministry.
