American investment firm General Atlantic has expressed a strong interest in joining the Data Center Valley project in Ekibastuz. Kazakhstan's President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev and General Atlantic Chairman and CEO William Ford discussed the initiative's progress, according to infohub.kz.

According to the Akorda, the project aims to create a large-scale infrastructure platform for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital services.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed prospects for investment cooperation and the development of Kazakhstan's technology sector and AI ecosystem. Toqaev called AI and digital transformation key national priorities and stressed the importance of attracting leading global investors and technology companies to new projects.

The president described the creation of a technology ecosystem that brings together Astana Hub, the Alem.ai International Center for Artificial Intelligence and Qazaq AI Research University. He said its growth is helping produce globally competitive companies, including Higgsfield AI.

Ford, in turn, presented General Atlantic's investment opportunities in fast-growing companies in fintech, e-commerce, software and artificial intelligence, as well as in energy and digital infrastructure.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that NVIDIA plans to take part in the next phase of the Data Center Valley in Ekibastuz. The project envisages infrastructure with a capacity of about 300 MW, expandable to 1 GW. Two supercomputer clusters based on NVIDIA technology have already been launched in Kazakhstan.

In addition, at the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 exhibition, Toqaev was shown an AI-Enabled University model based on Qazaq AI Research University, the Trusted Kazakhstan and ALFA projects, new Aitu features, and smart solutions from Samruk-Kazyna and Higgsfield.ai.
