Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek has announced the results of the competition for state educational grants for the 2026–2027 academic year on social media. According to the published data, over 75,000 grants were allocated for bachelor's degree programs, with 127,041 applications submitted by prospective students... reports infohub.kz.
The largest share of grants went to future specialists in engineering, manufacturing, and construction industries — 16,674. In second place were pedagogical sciences with 12,228 grants, and third were information and communication technologies, which received 10,387 grants. Another 9,188 grants were allocated for natural sciences, mathematics, and statistics.
As noted by the Ministry of Science, the state educational order in Kazakhstan has been fulfilled at 98%. "This indicates the effective distribution of state grants taking into account the needs of the labor market and the high interest of applicants in the most sought-after educational programs," wrote Sayasat Nurbek.
Separately, under the "Serpin" program, 2,180 grants were allocated, and 2,500 for youth from western regions. An additional 3,190 grants were provided for studying at branches of foreign universities opened in Kazakhstan.
