The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan has reported the percentage of Unified National Testing (UNT) participants who became eligible for educational grants, according to infohub.kz.
The ministry stated that this year, about 233,000 applicants took the main UNT. They could take the test twice to compete for state grants with their best result.
“According to the test results, 76% of participants passed the threshold score and became eligible to compete for educational grants,” said Nauzhan Didarbekova, deputy director of the National Testing Center.
Based on the UNT results, the maximum score of 140 was achieved by Aset Altair, a graduate from Pavlodar region, and Alfiya Balkhan, a graduate from Kyzylorda region (based on the conversion of the KAZTEST certificate). Additionally, 821 applicants scored above 130.
Also, 800 applicants with special educational needs took the main UNT, for whom the necessary conditions were created. Currently, the republican commission has completed its work. UNT certificates are available to applicants in their personal accounts.
Recall that yesterday, the republican commission for awarding grants reviewed applicants' applications—more than 127,000 were submitted. The Ministry of Science also named the specialties for which it will be most difficult to obtain a grant. Then, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, announced a specific date when grant competition participants will be able to find out the results.
