On July 22, several regions of Kazakhstan are expected to experience thunderstorms, hail, squally winds, intense heat, and dust storms, reports infohub.kz.
Storm warnings have been issued for July 22 in multiple regions. According to Kazhydromet, residents can expect thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail, squally winds, heat, and dust storms.
In the Almaty region, rain, thunderstorms, locally heavy precipitation, hail, and squalls are forecast. Winds will strengthen to 15–20 m/s, with gusts possibly reaching 25 m/s in some areas. In Almaty city, rain and thunderstorms are expected; in Konayev, overnight precipitation and strengthening winds are also forecast. In the Ile-Alatau mountains, the threat of heavy rain, hail, and squalls remains.
In a number of regions, including Abai, Zhetysu, Ulytau, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Zhambyl, Pavlodar, and Kyzylorda regions, rain with thunderstorms is also expected. In some areas, heavy precipitation, hail, and squally winds with gusts up to 23–28 m/s are possible.
In Astana, forecasters predict rain, thunderstorms, occasional heavy rain, and hail. Wind gusts will reach 15–20 m/s.
In the west and south of the country, intense heat will persist. In Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Atyrau, and Mangystau regions, air temperatures will locally reach +35…+38 degrees Celsius.
Kazhydromet also warns of high and extreme fire danger, which will persist in several regions.
