Today, August 5, Ust-Kamenogorsk was at the mercy of the elements: heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds up to 25 m/s hit the city. The city's mayor, Almat Akyshov, promptly informed about the consequences of the bad weather, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to the mayor, the storm toppled about 15 trees, and 25,000 subscribers across the city were left without electricity. "All issues are under my personal control, all emergency teams are working now. Everything will be fixed as soon as possible, electricity will be restored, and all overpasses will be cleared of trees," Almat Akyshov assured on his Instagram page.

The city head also showed how emergency restoration work is being carried out. On social media, residents are actively posting photos and videos of the rampage: the footage shows trees bending under the pressure of the squall wind.

Residents of Ust-Kamenogorsk were particularly impressed by the hail, which, according to eyewitnesses, reached the size of a chicken egg.
