The Chinese off-road SUV Haval H9 has gained a new factory modification, the Power Soul Edition, which features enhanced off-road equipment. The new model has already gone on sale in the Chinese market at a starting price of 214,900 yuan, equivalent to approximately 14.6 million tenge, reports infohub.kz.
The main highlight of the Power Soul Edition is its off-road readiness. The vehicle is equipped with the TOD all-wheel-drive system, Mlock mechanical locking, as well as front and rear differential locks. Ground clearance is 226 mm, approach angle is 32 degrees, departure angle is 26 degrees. The wading depth reaches 800 mm. Additionally, the factory version comes with a snorkel and the ability to tow a trailer weighing up to 2.5 tons.
Under the hood, two engines are available: a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a 2.4-liter diesel engine working with a 9-speed automatic.
In Kazakhstan, the Haval H9 is currently offered in a different trim. At official dealers, the model is available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 218 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic and the TOD all-wheel-drive system. The price of the Haval H9 2026 in the Premium trim starts at 23.2 million tenge, with the top end reaching 23.7 million tenge.
Externally, the Chinese Power Soul Edition retains the familiar boxy styling of the H9 but adds extra off-road elements, including a roof expedition rack, side ladder, and snorkel. Inside, there is a 15.6-inch central screen with 2.5K resolution and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Additional interior trim options are also announced for this version.
The main difference of the Power Soul Edition is not in the screen or decor, but in the factory off-road preparation. The owner gets a vehicle with a set of equipment installed at the factory, rather than a set of modifications after purchase.
