Haval Raptor Certified in Kazakhstan as H7

The Chinese crossover Haval Raptor has been officially certified for the Kazakhstani market: the model has received a type approval (OTTS), information about which appeared in the open registry of KazStandard. The vehicle is being prepared for launch, and its production will be organized at the AMMKZ plant, reports infohub.kz.

According to the documents, in the local market the new model will be sold not under the familiar Chinese name Raptor, but as the Haval H7. Earlier, the model was presented to Kazakhstani journalists under the name Haval V7, but later it was decided to assign it to the H-series.

At the same time, the Kazakhstani H7 should not be confused with the crossover of the same name presented in Russia. There, this name is known for a different model - Dargo Plus. What they share with the Kazakhstani Raptor is only the modular Lemon architecture from GWM.

For Kazakhstan, versions with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive have been certified. Under the hood is a 2-liter turbo engine GW4N20A with 231 hp and a torque of 380 Nm. The engine is designed for AI-92 gasoline and works in conjunction with a 9-speed robotic gearbox.

The dimensions of the crossover are 4680 x 1950 x 1843 mm, wheelbase - 2738 mm. With a spare wheel on the fifth door, the length reaches 4800 mm.

Production of the Haval Raptor will be organized at the multi-brand plant Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan. The OTTS is valid until August 10, 2029.

The interior provides two rows of seats, a digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 12.3 inches and a central screen of 14.6 inches. The equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, surround view and parking assistant.

The price and start date of sales have not yet been announced by the distributor. In terms of positioning, the H7 should be higher than the Haval H6, which currently costs from 12.4 million tenge in Kazakhstan, excluding special offers.

Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan plans to establish production of the hybrid Haval H6.
