A neighbor of the late actress Hayden Panettiere told journalists that shortly before her death, he noticed signs of physical abuse on her body. According to the witness, who lived near the actress in Greenville, South Carolina, he repeatedly saw her with bruises on her face and arms.
The man noted that in the weeks leading up to Panettiere's death, she appeared depressed and avoided social contact. The neighbor also said that sounds of arguments and loud screams regularly came from her apartment. According to him, the actress's boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was often at the house; he had previously been charged with domestic violence.
Earlier, it became known that 36-year-old Hayden Panettiere died at her home. Paramedics who arrived at the scene pronounced her dead from cardiac arrest. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the star's death, awaiting toxicology results. Meanwhile, Hickerson's lawyer stated that law enforcement found no signs of violent death at the scene.
