Meteorologists have warned residents of three major Kazakh cities of extreme heat reaching up to 45°C on Friday, July 17, reports infohub.kz.

In Almaty, skies will be clear. Daytime temperatures will rise to 39°C, dropping to 26°C at night. Wind speed will be 4.8 m/s.

Astana will also see clear weather, with daytime highs of 30°C and overnight lows of 18°C. Wind speed is forecast at 8.8 m/s.

Shymkent will remain dry as well. Thermometers will climb to 45°C during the day and fall to 28°C at night. Wind speeds will reach 8.9 m/s.
