By the end of 2026, home rehabilitation for children with disabilities will become available in four more regions of Kazakhstan, reports infohub.kz.

Interim results of the project "QH Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities at Home" were discussed at a meeting of the Coordination Council of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population on issues of social protection of persons with disabilities.

The program is currently being implemented with the support of the public foundation "Qazaqstan Halqyna" together with the National Scientific Center for the Development of the Social Protection Sphere. It already operates in Shymkent, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, and Abai regions.

Since the start of the project, 628 children have undergone comprehensive home rehabilitation. They received 405 innovative technical rehabilitation aids. According to the ministry, positive changes were observed in 470 children — nearly 75% of all participants. Thanks to regular sessions, 130 children learned to confidently hold their heads, 76 to sit independently, 78 to stand with support, and 34 children took their first independent steps.

A resident of Abai region, Nazym Rashitkyzy, whose son has been in the program for a year and a half, said that during this time the child began to stand more confidently, picks up toys on his own, and tries to eat without assistance. "For our family, this is huge progress. We are sincerely grateful for this project and hope it will continue and become available to even more children," she noted.

One of the project's features is ongoing remote support for families through a digital observation diary. Rehabilitation specialists monitor the child's condition, analyze home session results, and adjust the recovery program as needed. This format has made it possible to provide quality care to children living in remote settlements. In the future, the digital platform is planned to be supplemented with educational materials for parents, speech therapy exercises, and new support services. In addition, regular in-person meetings are held for parents to exchange experiences and provide mutual support.

By the end of 2026, home rehabilitation will become available to residents of Mangystau, West Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, and Ulytau regions. Summing up the meeting, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Askarbek Ertaev emphasized that further development of the project is possible only through joint work of the state, local executive bodies, and public organizations.
