In Astana, another unique historical corner is being demolished — the last private houses on the embankment along Kenesary Street. One of them was filmed by blogger Nursultan Kamzebayev, reports infohub.kz.
According to the blogger, the house turned out to be a real time capsule. Inside, old belongings, documents, and even the first samples of the national currency were preserved.
The land for this plot was granted to the owner's great-grandfather in the mid-19th century. Inside, an authentic atmosphere remained. Dark walls created an old-world feel, complemented by vintage details. On the record player, one could listen to 1980s star Sandra, examine the first national currencies of Kazakhstan, and even see the birth certificate of one of the house's first owners.
As the video's author recounts, the surrounding area still has a bathhouse with unique tiles and the remains of an old cattle shed.
The plot was surrounded by high-rises in the early 2010s. Now it's the house's turn.
Judging by comments, it had long attracted the attention of passersby and residents with its unusual fate, being literally "sunken" in the asphalt and concrete of modern high-rises.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that a large illegal dump appeared near new residential complexes in the Yesil district of Astana. Local residents noticed that waste was being covered with soil and speculated that the area might be prepared for further construction.
