Yemen's Houthi rebels have announced a new military operation against the Saudi oil tanker Wafa in the northern Red Sea, according to infohub.kz.
Military spokesman Yahya Saree said the vessel was attacked with several ballistic missiles in the Yanbu al-Bahr area. He stated that the missiles hit their target with precision.
Saree explained that the attack is part of the Houthis' declared strategy of "blockade for blockade." He added that since the start of the naval blockade on July 22, this is the eighth Saudi oil tanker to be struck by the Houthis.
Furthermore, the spokesman claimed that since the blockade began, the Houthis have hindered the passage of 29 Saudi tankers and forced them to change course in the Red and Arabian Seas.
