The Ansar Allah movement (Houthis), which controls northern Yemen, announced it had carried out a precise strike on the Saudi Defense Ministry building in Riyadh, infohub.kz reports.
According to RIA Novosti, Houthi armed forces spokesman Yahya Saree said on Al Masirah television that four military operations had been conducted over the past 48 hours. He said Yemeni ballistic missiles and drones were used in the attacks.
"The first operation targeted the Defense Ministry building in the Saudi enemy's capital, Riyadh. The strike was precise," Yahya Saree said.
According to him, the other operations targeted a facility of an oil and gas company in Yanbu in the west of the kingdom, as well as international airports in Dammam and Abha. Footage from the sites of the strikes is being circulated on social media. However, Saudi authorities have not yet confirmed the attack on the Defense Ministry.
Earlier reports said the airport in the Saudi city of Dammam came under attack, killing one person. Eight others were injured and hospitalized. Before that, on October 11, at least 12 people were killed and 309 injured in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. And on October 14, airlines from a number of Arab countries suspended or canceled flights to Saudi Arabia following Houthi attacks on the capital's airport.
Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia that resulted in casualties.
