A post by a visitor to the Vosem Ozer (Eight Lakes) recreation area in the Almaty Region has gone viral on social media. The woman said she spotted human feces while swimming in the pool, reports infohub.kz.

According to her, despite the unpleasant discovery, the pool was not closed, and swimmers continued to use it.

The author of the post claims that she and her family paid 75,000 tenge for a cottage with an overnight stay, and the next day another 30,000 tenge for pool access for two. However, the vacation was ruined.

"I was swimming myself and noticed it. Then the feces were simply scooped out, and people continued swimming there. The stench was unreal. I felt very nauseous afterward realizing I had been swimming near it," the woman wrote.

The post has garnered nearly 627,000 views and hundreds of comments. Many users expressed outrage that the pool, according to the author, was not closed for a full sanitary cleaning.

Later, the author said she was given an explanation about the filtration system, but she still had doubts.

"They told me that filtration is running all the time. But given the smell and the amount of hair in the water, I have doubts," she noted.

In the comments, some users suggested that such a situation could pose a health risk if visitors accidentally swallowed water.

"You should send your post to those who wrote yesterday that a dog in the water is unhygienic."

"Isn't this a potential infection with E. coli or something like that?"

"Nice catch," users wrote.

Kursiv LifeStyle contacted the administration of the recreation area for comment. They confirmed the incident.

"After the situation was discovered, all necessary sanitary measures were taken: the water was replaced, the pool was treated, and the filtration and disinfection system continued to operate normally. All pools in our complex are equipped with a modern system of continuous purification and water circulation, which allows maintaining water quality in accordance with sanitary requirements," the administration reported.

Representatives of the recreation area also noted that they understand that such videos may raise questions among visitors, but assured that the safety and comfort of guests remain their priority.
