Kazakhstan's automotive plants produced more than 96,000 vehicles and other machinery in the first half of 2026, with Hyundai leading among brands and the Allur plant in Kostanay being the largest, according to the Kazakhstan Automotive Union (KAU).
Data from the Bureau of National Statistics shows that vehicle output in January–June 2026 rose 34.4% year-on-year. The total value of production reached 1.15 trillion tenge, up 15.7%. Automotive manufacturing now accounts for 41.4% of the country's entire machine-building output.
Anar Makasheva, president of the Kazakhstan Automotive Union, said the industry's growth was driven by the launch of new plants, expansion of model ranges, and deeper localization.
In the six months, domestic enterprises produced 88,900 passenger cars (+37.2%), 3,400 trucks (-1.2%), 1,500 buses (+27.6%), 557 special-purpose vehicles (+45.1%), and 1,800 trailers and semi-trailers (+4.5%).
The Allur plant remained the largest producer, turning out 34,600 vehicles (36.6% of total). It was followed by Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan (25,700, 27.2%), Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan (19,500, 20.7%), and Kia Qazaqstan (9,800, 10.3%). Among commercial vehicle manufacturers, QazTehna led with 1,584 units, ahead of SemAZ (1,513), KAMAZ-Engineering (672), and Hyundai Trans Almaty (645).
By brand, Hyundai topped the rankings with 19,500 vehicles. The top ten also included Chevrolet (17,900), Kia (11,700), Changan (9,700), Chery (8,000), Haval (6,800), Jetour (4,500), JAC (3,700), Geely Galaxy (2,100), and Geely (1,300).
Earlier reports indicated that Kazakhstan will start producing SITRAK driverless trucks and Li Auto crossovers.
