Hyundai Motor America has backed an unexpected digital project by artist Khizyl Salim, who transformed the family crossover Santa Fe into an extreme desert racing vehicle, reports infohub.kz.
The images were published on the company's official social media accounts. The automaker also asked followers which Hyundai model should be modified next.
Salim, known on Instagram as @the_kyza, presented a completely different interpretation of the popular crossover. He turned the Santa Fe into a two-door off-roader that looks ready to start the Baja race.
Almost nothing remains of the production car in the project. The recognizable H-shaped lighting elements and the windshield were retained. At the same time, the vehicle received large off-road tires, increased ground clearance, fender flares, additional lights, and spare wheels at the rear.
According to the author's idea, this Hyundai Santa Fe should be more of a racing car than a family three-row crossover.
If the project were brought to life in metal, the car would need a powerful engine. Such an SUV could end up in the same category as extreme desert models like the Ford Bronco DR or rally-raid prototypes.
However, Hyundai has not yet announced plans to bring the concept to life. So the extreme Santa Fe remains a virtual project.
