Following the global premiere of the fifth-generation Tucson crossover, Hyundai has released the first official images of its "charged" XRT modification. This version is traditionally aimed at outdoor enthusiasts and light off-road use. Previously, the XRT lineup was available only in North America, where the Santa Fe and Palisade were also offered. Now, the Korean automaker has decided to make the off-road sub-brand global, reports infohub.kz.
The standard new-generation Tucson features clean architectural lines, but the XRT version takes a completely different approach. Up front, the crossover gains a massive rectangular grille that visually makes the car wider and more aggressive. Directly beneath the bumper sits a substantial steel skid plate, hinting at its readiness to tackle rough terrain.
In addition, designers added textured protective cladding around the wheel arches. Its texture mimics forged carbon fiber, which looks more interesting than plain plastic. The exterior is traditionally complemented by darkened body elements, black alloy wheels, and window trim that contrast with the main color.
The vehicle is built on a fresh platform with an extended wheelbase of 2785 mm, and the total body length is exactly 4700 mm. As a result, the trunk will have enough space for tents and camping gear. The interior is also thoroughly prepared for nature outings.
Inside, there will be special wear-resistant seat upholstery with signature XRT patterns, dark metal trim, and heavy-duty all-weather floor mats for both rows. An interesting feature is a built-in touch LED light in the tailgate, making it much more convenient to load gear in the dark. Hyundai will reveal full technical specifications, engine lineup, and exact markets in the coming weeks.
Given the model's popularity in Kazakhstan, the appearance of such a trim in local dealerships seems a logical step. Earlier, the publication "Kursiv Avto" reported that Hyundai continues to hold the status of a people's brand since the beginning of 2026.
