Shoppers will lean noticeably more on AI-powered chatbots to choose gifts this holiday season. Analysts at Adobe conducted a large-scale study and found that referrals to retailer websites from smart chatbots will rise 130 percent compared with last year, according to infohub.kz.

People are increasingly handing product searches and selection over to artificial intelligence. The algorithms do more than return links — they build personalized guides for a given budget, compare specifications and help users catch good discounts.

The main reason for this popularity is convenience and speed. Shoppers no longer have to spend hours combing through dozens of online stores and reading reviews. It is enough to describe a person's interests and the amount they want to spend to the bot, and the neural network instantly suggests suitable options. Surveys show that the vast majority of users feel far more confident after such recommendations and rarely make returns.

There are complications along the way, however. Not all major marketplaces welcome third-party virtual assistants. Companies such as Amazon, for instance, try to limit the work of outside smart agents on their platforms, preferring to develop their own built-in services. Even so, experts are confident that this time many of the gifts under the tree will be chosen with the help of smart technology.
