In Almaty, the expulsion of 35 Indian nationals who violated Kazakhstan's migration laws has been completed. All of them overstayed their permitted period and were in the country illegally, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Almaty Police Department, the foreigners were found during raids conducted by migration service officers. After detention, a court ordered their administrative expulsion. The final stage took place at Almaty airport, where police escorted the violators through border and passport control before their flight home.
In addition to the foreigners themselves, the hosting parties were also held administratively liable. According to police, they failed to ensure the timely departure of guests after the legal stay period expired. Police reminded: "Both foreign citizens and those hosting them in Kazakhstan are obliged to comply with migration legislation. Control over compliance with these requirements continues."
It is worth noting that citizens of countries with which Kazakhstan has established a visa-free regime (including India, China, Iran, and Hong Kong) are allowed to stay in the republic for up to 14 calendar days per entry, but no more than 42 days within 180 days. For citizens of most EU countries, the USA, the UK, Japan, and several other states, the visa-free stay is up to 30 days. Citizens of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia, and some other EAEU and CIS countries can stay for up to 90 days. Citizens of countries without a visa-free regime require a visa.
Earlier it was reported that in 2025, more than 2,600 foreign citizens were expelled from Kazakhstan for migration violations. The largest number of illegal migrants was detected in the Turkistan and Almaty regions.
