An Indian woman has set a new world record for the longest hair, officially entering the Guinness Book of Records. Her black hair measures 271.5 centimeters, surpassing the previous record held by Ukrainian Aliya Nasyrova, according to infohub.kz.
Renu Dhariyal, a beauty blogger from the state of Uttarakhand, now holds the record for the longest hair among living women. The official measurement, conducted in the city of Haldwani, recorded a length of 271.50 centimeters. This is 14 centimeters longer than the previous record set by Aliya Nasyrova (257.33 centimeters).
Renu says she has been growing her hair since 2015 and has not cut it since. Her main inspiration is Indian culture, where long hair is considered a symbol of beauty and tradition.
Caring for such locks requires immense patience. Washing and combing her hair takes several hours. To keep it out of the way, she braids it into an intricate plait.
Renu attributes her success to avoiding chemical products. She hopes to bring fame to her native region and show the world the importance of staying true to natural beauty.
