As the new school year approaches, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has addressed all parents and teachers, reports infohub.kz.
The ministry noted that with the start of the school year, children spend more time outside the home, commuting to school on their own, and attending clubs and extracurricular activities. In this regard, the Ministry emphasized the importance of reviewing simple road safety rules.
Ahead of September 1, all schools have been inspected for road safety compliance. All buses designated for transporting children have also been checked. Where deficiencies were found, orders have been issued, and their rectification will be ensured before the start of the school year.
The Ministry reminds that crossing the roadway should only be done in designated areas. "Put away your phone and headphones, and stay attentive. When using bicycles, mopeds, and e-scooters, be sure to follow traffic rules," the ministry reminded.
Police officers separately addressed parents: "Know where your child is, who they communicate with, and what they are interested in. Talk to your children more often. The most important thing is that in a difficult situation, a child is not afraid to come to you for help. If a child is in danger, call '102' or contact the '111' contact center. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is taking the necessary measures to ensure that the new school year is safe for every child. Our common task is not just to prevent danger, but to teach children to recognize it and seek help in time. Take care of your children," the police said.
